In 2009, the SAQ launched a simple and practical way of transforming the experience of spirit and wine lovers: taste tags! These now-famous labels were one of the SAQ’s first means of enabling customers to truly customize their selections, and better know their fown wine and spirit preferences. In keeping with this success, in 2015 the SAQ launched the Inspire program. Equipped with and informed by both these tools, today the SAQ is able to offer customers a range of products that are sure to please! For example, the SAQ was able to note that Quebecers like fruity products — whether wine or spirits. In 2018, bottles with the Fruity and Vibrant taste tag were the year’s most popular white-wine choice, whereas Fruity and Medium-Bodied was the red wine profile of predilection.
